While closed courses are wonderful, there is nothing like taking a sports vehicle that exceeds speeds over 130 miles per hour on to the open road. The German Autobahn is probably one of the most well-know highways without speed limits in the world. On this highway, the world record of 268 miles per hour was set by Rudolf Caracciola. Though there is no official speed limit, the advisory speed limit is 81 miles per hour. The total length of the German Autobahn highway systems is over 7000 miles. If you want to test drive a new sports vehicle, this is an excellent place to do it.

2. Montana, United States

Montana at one period in its history had no daytime limits, but the state government advised companies to travel at reasonable and prudent speed. The daytime limits now have an advisory limit of 75 miles per hour, but the signs still state to maintain a reasonable and prudent speed. Fatal accidents rose after the no speed limit law was repealed. Experts think that people remain safer when there is no speed limit because they take extra precautions. Even with restrictions, Montana is a good choice to try.

3. Texas, United States

Some areas of Texas have raised its speed limits to 85 miles per hour. This is four miles over the Autobahn’s advisory limit. This is a recent development that has been well-received by the public. This speed limit was raised on the 41-mile toll road between Austin and San Antonio. This speed limit increase has not been without debate.

4. Italy

The speed limits are between 120 miles per hour and 150 miles per hour. Italy makes some of the best sports cars. Thus, it seems only likely that they would have higher speed limits.
